Uglies series by Scott Westerfield. Reviewed by Shalynn M.

Do you have a favorite book? Some might say that their favorite book is Twilight. My favorite book or book series is the Uglies series by Scott Westerfield.
In the book Uglies the author makes you feel like you could almost be there with the characters. There are scenes where Tally Youngblood (main girl) is hover boarding through the rapids and when she gets back she has scratches and bruises on her face. You can just picture how that would look and feel. Also, when Tally is pulling a prank and she’s hiding from the “cops” and she runs into Shay (who turns out to be her best friend). The way the author describes the scenes makes you feel like your there or you could be there. The setting of this book is all over the place. It goes from Tally hover boarding to her being in her dorm room with Shay, but the way the author describes it makes you feel like your actually there.
Tally Youngblood is the main character. Her personality is kind and caring. Her ex-best friend is Peris. After Peris turned pretty, Tally was alone until she met a girl named Shay. Shay and Tally become best friends. Shay is kind of a bossy type of girl and always wants her way. Tally is kind and caring.
When kids turn twelve they are moved away from their parents and into a dorm where they feed you and where you go to school. You stay there until you are sixteen. After you are sixteen you turn pretty. That’s where doctors do an operation that make you turn beautiful. It has always been Tally Youngblood’s dream to become pretty but, when her friend Shay runs away she is forced to go and find her.
The book makes you feel like your actually there, it makes connections with you and the characters, and the book shows you another kind of world. Those are the reasons why I like the book Uglies.

  1. She did a very good job of describing the characters. She described their personality really well. Robert Counts
