Have you ever read a book that you felt like you couldn’t out it down? Some might say they have and others, might say that they haven’t. They might ay that the Harry Potter’s are books you can’t put down but another book you can’t put down is Night by Elie Wisel. The subject of the book is a very strong one indeed. It may be an easy read but the content in the book is extremely powerful. This is what makes it hard to stop reading it.
The setting in this book is in two or three concentration camps. The first camp is Auschwitz. Auschwitz was one of the biggest camps during the Holocaust. Throughout the book Eliezer and his father transfer to three different camps during their journey. When they first arrived at Auschwitz he was separated from his mom and sister.
The main character is Eliezer. He is a Jewish kid that was captured and taken to concentration camps along with his father. He was thirteen when he first arrived at Auschwitz. He told the guards that he was 18 so that he could go to the working line at the sorting sessions. He bounces to different camps for three or four years. I liked Eliezer because he was smart. He wasn’t like other children in the camp who felt pity for themselves. He wanted to survive. He fought for survival every chance he could get. During one of the sorting sessions he covered his left arm because he had a tattoo of his number. He was very weak and the guards were trying to get rid of the weak. When it was his turn he ran as fast as he could and covered his arm so the doctor could not tell if he was weak or what his number was. If he didn’t do this he would have been executed on the spot.
The plot of the story is it during the holocaust. Hitler has sent out the command to capture all the jews. Eliezer gets captured and he is sent to the concentration camps. He works as hard as he to survive. He tries to make friends in the camps. The Russian army invades one of the camps though so they had to evacuate one of the camps. The next camp he went to he had to work as a block mover. His father does the same thing with him. That camp also almost gets invaded so they move to the last one. His foot has become swollen from walking and running on the snow. He has to get an operation on it to be able to walk. As his father gets weaker and weaker so does he. They had to run the entire way to the other camp that ended up to be over 60 miles there, When they get there they are sent to their blocks. Eliezer’s dada dies in his. Eliezer survived because the Russian invaded.
I recommend this book very much because it is a powerful book that tells you about the holocaust. It was very well written. I really enjoyed this book. The lexile may be down but the content is very strong.

This review was great. You made me intrested in it. I want to read this book now. I love learning about the holocust and how different people have moved from differnt camps. I tried reading a book about the holocust, but that certain one just didn't intrest me. This one sounds like a good book.

I thought you were very descriptive, but did you have to give away the ending?
