Cell by Stephen King Reviewed by Zach E.

What scary story do you like? Some might say horror or just vagaley scary. Stephen King’s book Cell is scary with zombies for characters, and a changing setting.

Stephen King puts you directly into the dark setting. As the characters travel from the destroyed remains of Boston to the gory future of Maine. The tattered remains of people lie everywhere and the characters must deal with the growing, unbearable smell of decaying flesh. The enemy follows them closely behind not stopping for anything. The characters travel by foot and have no idea that they are headed towards a much worse place.

Mark, a comic drawer from Maine, is put into a chaotic world. On his journey he meets an average Boston citizen named Tom. Tom and Mark later meet a young lady, who was abandoned by her mother when The Pulse hit. These three help each other through the long and horrific journey. These main characters meet others on their journey, but these three become very close and nearly inseparable.

Mark starts in Boston on what seems like an average day. Although a devistating Phenomenon, later called the Pulse, is transferred to nearly every human on the planet. The pulse was cell phone transferred and turned people into vicious zombies that kill everything they can see. As Mark and his newly found companions travel from Boston to Maine hoping the zombies don’t catch up. As the zombies seem to get more powerful Mark starts to wonder what happened to his real family.

This exciting story keeps you on the edge of your seat. You won’t want to stop reading it. I recommend this book to anybody who likes a scary mystery type of book. You won’t be disappointed, I promise.

  1. I love Stephen King, even though I've only read one book ("Misery") by him. I also love zombies. I really like that you thoroughly explained the plot without giving anything away. I think I'll check this book out.
