The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon Review by Taylor B,

Have you read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time written by Mark Haddon? It is a great book. The characters are very interesting and the plot is attention grabbing.

The main character of the book is Christopher, who is an autistic 15-year-old kid. He is very smart and thinks very logically. In the book he is always drawing diagrams or explaining difficult math problems and games that take a lot of thinking. He does not like the colors yellow or brown and refuses to touch them. If someone touches him he screams or hits them. And if he is around a lot of people he lays down on the ground and groans, and he cannot lie.

The book is about Christopher going outside one night to find his neighbors dog dead with a fork in its side. Christopher turns it into a murder mystery and tries to find the murderer. Throughout the book he finds out important information about his dead mother, almost goes to jail, and more.

The book takes place in a town close to London. Christopher does go to London in one part of the book. Most of the time Christopher is in his neighborhood or school or his house.

Overall I thought the book was ok. It was very interesting but got very annoying because Christopher was always thinking logically and never believed in anything that there was no proof of and won’t talk to people when he should. I still recommend this book to all people.
