Shock Wave is a book by Clive Cussler this is a book about a killer plague killing a lot of sea life around Australia and Antarctica. One of the main Characters is Dirk Pitt he is in a project called NUMA it is a sea life program working on the mysterious deaths of sea life, and now also human life.
The setting of this book goes everywhere. It is set for about five years from now. At first it starts on a cruise in the Antarctic where the plague hits and kills all of the passengers and crewmembers but about 14. Afterwards they are saved by a man named Dirk Pitt. Who saw that their life raft was on the shore, and they are brought onto their ship. The next is in the United States, Washington D.C. Afterwards the setting stays in the ocean and on an islands.
The main Characters are Dirk Pitt and Arthur Dorsett; the whole story revolves around them mainly, because they are fighting (fist to fist) about the deaths Arthur is causing. Arthur Dorsett has three daughters Boudicca, and Deirdre; her father stole Maeve’s two six-year-old sons because she changed her name to an old grandmother’s last name.
There isn’t much that I can tell you about the plot, because it will give the rest of the story away if I do. There is a major sound wave headed for a heavily populated area the NUMA organization tries to stop it but if they do it could cause a volcanic explosion on the mining islands. Arthur Dorsett is the 6th richest person in the world, and he has discovered a way to dig up diamonds four times faster, but this machine emits sound waves (he has four of them on four islands) when these sound waves meet they and rise above the surface and are somehow powerful enough to kill animals and humans. The plague hits a cruise in the Antarctic and kills all of the passengers and crewmembers but about 14 of them.
That is all I can tell you about this book because you need to read it to find out the rest. This is an action book but also part mystery and adventure. This is a kind of book where you don’t know what’s going to happen next.
