Have you ever read an extremely good book? Some might say that the best books have action and suspense in them. But others say it has romance and comedy in them. The book Mortal Engines has plenty of action and suspense with much more.

In the book Mortal Engines we are thousands of years into the future, where the cities and towns are on wheels and have big mouths for the soul purpose of eating other towns just so the people living on the city can make the eaten town into fuel to keep moving. The author described this setting to me so well that I could feel the town rocking with every little movement that it takes just to find another small town to take a visit into the jaws of the colossal moving city that people of this strange world like to call London.

This book has many characters in it but there are only a few main characters. The first one is a young boy named Tom who is an apprentice historian who has spent the whole sixteen years of his life cleaning models and old pictures in the museum. The second character is a young girl named Hester that has a very exiting life of chasing down a killer that murdered her parents to take a weapon from her family.

In this book Hester and Tom are two sixteen year olds that are chasing London down on foot to try to kill the murder that killed Hester’s parents and to try to save a poor city that doesn’t have the money to put their town on wheels.
