Travel Team
Have you ever read a really good book? Some would say that good books are the ones that leave you with a lot of questions or filled with suspense. The best books have are the ones that make you feel like you are in the story, and you can see and hear everything that is going on very clearly.
I read the book Travel Team By Mike Lupica. The setting of this book takes place in Middletown, New York, in the twenty-first century. Most of the time in Middletown it is at the main characters house or on the basketball court. I play basketball, so I can picture everything very clearly on the basketball court. It makes me feel like I am in the stands watching the game.
This book has five main characters in it. They are Daniel Walker, Ali Walker, Richard Walker, Will Stoddard, and Tess Hewwitt. Daniel is the main character out of all of them. Will and Tess are his friends and Ali and Richard are his parents. Danny lived for basketball. He played it when it was snowing or ninety-five degrees, it didn’t matter to him. They seem like real people to me because they do things that real humans do, they do good at things, and also make mistakes. I like these characters because most of them are my age, they are twelve or thirteen years old. I especially like Will because he is into sports and always has a good time, no matter where he is or what he is doing.
Danny is a twelve-year-old-boy who LOVES to play basketball. When Danny doesn’t make the seventh-grade Travel Team, he is very disappointed. He keeps wondering why he didn’t make it, since he was so much better than most of the kids who made it. It turns out he was too small to be on the team, and that they wanted to have a tall team that year. So, will Danny make it on a team this year? You can find out by reading the book, Travel Team, By Mike Lupica.
I would definitely recommend reading this book if you are into sports. Go to a local library and check it out, borrow it from a friend, or go out and buy it from a bookstore nearby. This was one of the best books that I have ever read.

I think this book sounds like something I would like to read. I like how you connected with the setting of the basketball court. I also like how you didn't give away the ending of the book and I think I would like to read it.
ReplyDeleteThis was a good review. I can now see myself reading this book. I liked how Ryan didn't give the end of the story. It made me want to read the book because of that.
ReplyDeleteI thought that this book review helped me picture what the book is like. How you explained the book it made it seem like I would be able to connect a lot to this book and I would like it. The ways that you explained Danny's problems seemed like it was a very realistic book. Like how somebody would not be put on a team, because that really does happen in real life. I also like how you explain how real the people seem by how they make mistakes but can also do something and be great at it.
ReplyDeleteDear, Ryan
ReplyDeleteI think this sounds like a very good book. I also like to play basketball so I can relate to this book. I can relate with Danny because he is the shortest guy on the court, which is also what I am. This sounds like it does a very good job of making me feel like I am a part of the game.
