Do you have a favorite book? Some people say there are two many good books to choose from while others might say they don’t read that much. My favorite book, however, is Night by Elie Wiesel because I think the setting, plot, and characters are all very interesting.
The setting of Night is very interesting. The setting of the book is in 40s and 50s during the Holocaust in Europe. The author really made me feel that I was in the snowing nights and days running with the Jews on trails or in the small ghettos feeling closed in by the barbed wire fences and armed officers. While reading this book whenever I closed my eyes I would picture the setting.
The book Night also has a great plot. The book is about a Jewish family that lives in Europe during the Holocaust. It is a story about how they are separated at camps and how the father and son go through extremely hard times together. The biggest problem I think they face is getting though the hard times and staying alive. The father and son have to do hard work and make hard decisions just to stay alive like when the family doesn’t know if they should try to hide or if they should run and escape the camps and ghettos. The Holocaust and constant threat of death changes everybody involved in it. I think this book wasn’t ever boring and I always had trouble stopping while reading this book.
This great book also had well developed characters. Since the story is written by the teenage boy in the true story you really understand each character. The boy, Elie, has to do more than any other teenage boy should have to do to live. Even though his religious beliefs give him very little privileges than others he stays true to them. He and his father are very strong people to stay true to their beliefs after all the pain it caused them. When Elie would see horrific things and go through hard challenges and would still focus on what he needed to do and what his dad needed to do it showed me he was focused and determined.
I recommend this book to anybody who likes a book that will never bore you. It has great characters, a great setting, and a great plot. The book Night by Elie Wiesel is a great book, and I think you should read it.
