Have you ever read a book that you love and can’t wait to see what happens next? Some people might say that they can’t find a book and that they don’t like to read. Others might say that they love to read and can never put a book down. That’s why I read Code Orange because you are never board. You always want to see what is going to happen next.
In Code Orange the setting takes place in New York, the craziest city in the United States. The time period that this book took place in was right after 9/11 so everyone was really sad. So everyone was watching behind every corner at every street. When I was reading this book I can picture a lot of things in my head about what she says. For example, I can see when he running down the sidewalk, out of breathe and looking for water. She does a really good job on details. The author, Caroline B. Cooney also makes me feel like I am a bird in the middle of New York and watching everything that goes on. I really like that in books.
The main character in my book is Mitty Blake, he is doing a report on small pox. What it was and how they killed a lot of people when it was going around. Mitty has a girlfriend named Olivia and she is a big part of the book also, Mitty has a best friend Drake that is always by his side and is a big part of the book also. I like all of these characters because they are all about my age, and I can relate to them in a lot of ways. For example Mitty doesn’t like school very much but he is very smart and never gives up on what he is doing. Like when he was doing a report on small pox he liked what he was learning about and would not stop doing research on it. I can relate to Mitty the best because he is like me in all of these reasons.
The plot of the book is very good. Mitty is doing a report on small pox and he finds these scabs that are about 100 years old. He decides to tough them. So then he thought to himself what if I get it now. So he read up on the signs of it. Now he thinks that he has it.
I would recommend this book if you are looking for a good read and something to never put down. This is a very good book.
