Among the Brave by Margaret Petersen Haddix reviewed by Kaleb C.

Among the Brave by Margret Petrson Hadix is a great book. There is suspense, action, and humor. The setting is in the Nebraska, in the not so distant future. This future is one that is very frightening.
The main character is named Trey. Trey is a 17 year old young man who is very adventurous. He is loyal to his friends and trusts them very well. He is a third child or a “shadow child.” He is at a camp where many shadow children hide. They are evacuating the camp. His friends are captured by the Population Police, who are in charge of making sure that there are no shadow children. So he must make a plan.
After a fierce shoot out with the Population Police, Trey gets a uniform so he can get into the Population Police headquarters. He makes it into HQ safely. He must make a plan. When getting lunch, he runs into an old friend. Her name is Margery, and she too is a shadow child. Together they find a solution, to put a stop to the Population Police. But, they run into many unexpected problems.
This book is a very good book. There is suspense, action, and humor. This is one of my favorite books. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes action, suspense or just a good book. I would rate this book an 8.5 out of 10 because it is somewhat hard to understand at times. Read this book and find out for yourself what happens to Trey and Margery.
